Islands of
the lagoon

If you plan an excursion to Venice (20 km), you cannot miss a visit to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello to admire their peculiarities that distinguish one from the other.

Murano, Burano
& Torcello

The beautiful blown glass objects are original from the island of Murano, the shops and craftsmen who work there produce objects of every size and shape. From chandeliers to the reproduction of animals on various scales, the craftsmanship with which these pieces are made means that demand for production comes from all over the world.

It is said that sailors used to paint the houses on the island of Burano in order to recognise them when the island was covered in fog. On a sunny day, the bright colours stand out to the eye and their diversity for each dwelling gives the island a lively and radiant tone. Local craftsmen make lace and lacework, traditional local items.

The Devil's Bridge is located in the access channel of the island of Torcello, its original characteristic without parapet has generated many legends about it. The throne of Attila is another particular point of this island. A walk through the semi-deserted calli and a dinner in one of the inns, are moments that cannot be missed during an excursion to Torcello.
