The city of Padua (80 km) is known as one of Italy's most important university centres and among the first to be established in Europe hundreds of years ago.

Its hystorical academic and artistic history has contributed to the growth of the city also from an economic point of view, making it one of the most important economic centres in the Veneto region. Its historical centre includes the most important places for city life and tourism such as Piazza Delle Erbe, Palazzo della Regione and Prato della Valle. The beautiful Basilica is the destination of many pilgrimages as inside are deposited the remains of St. Anthony, patron of the city.
